Cotton plant oil painting demo

One of my “instagram friends” sent me a photos of a gorgeous cotton plant. She said it’s from a filed beside her house. What a beautiful field that must be. I don’t think I have ever seen a cotton plant in person, but now I think I need to. This was so much fun to paint. I think capturing the subtleties of whites might be my fav right now. And this one was no exception. I did get nervous in the middle of the painting that it might not turn out…but it did and now this one is headed to Scotland Neck, NC to live next to the field where it grew. Fun!
