Be careful what you wish for!
As I sit down to make a list of everything I need to pack for France, it gives me a moment to think about what’s to come...and I’d honestly rather write down my thoughts than create a list (that’s a task I’m terrible at, but wish I wasn’t!)
Over a year ago, January 17, 2022, to be exact, I received a message on Instagram from someone named Harrison at Perigord Retreats (https://perigord-retreats.com/). He wanted to know if I’d be interested in teaching at their beautiful estate in the South of France. What?!? Me? Really?
We chatted via zoom later that month and I was immediately intrigued. I did my due diligence and talked with a few people who had previously taught there and only heard great things. So I said yes, why not?
Next I needed to fill my class with students. How would this ever happen? What if no one signed up to join me? Well, thank goodness that didn’t happen...I have nine people who are sure to be the most perfect group of artistic souls who chose to join me on this crazy, beautiful, journey!
And now we are only a few days away from our adventure in France...we get to create art to our hearts content, travel to tiny ancient villages to wander the streets to gather inspiration and paint plein air, to lose ourselves in endless lavender fields (did I mention it’s lavender season?), we will eat amazing meals, drink wine, laugh, learn and maybe even rest a bit and let time pass by gently...it’s sure to be magical!
I can’t wait to tell you all about our adventures. I’m sure I will be sharing our escapades on social and I’ll tell you all about it when I return. I’m sure the next two weeks will float by in the blink of an eye.
Be careful what you wish for, it might just come true!
