Inside look at the first show of the season

Me with my friend Andrea Lavery who I’ve been friends with for years but just met in person at this show. (https://andrealavery.com/)

This past weekend I had my first show of the season at the Westport Fine Arts Festival.

Getting ready is crazy…first there’s the packing up when all of the things are packed away for off-season…getting it all out, making sure we aren’t forgetting anything, finishing and varnishing, cataloging and pricing new artwork, packing the van, and heading out absolutely certain that I’ve forgotten something crucial. Then there’s the set up and not remembering quite how it all goes together, and making adjustments…

Then hanging new art and curating how it will all work best together.

It’s a big deal getting ready for a show, and the hardest one (I hope) is the first of the season.

Westport Connecticut is a charming town, with great shopping and restaurants, and the people were so lovely. I met new collectors, spent time with some long-time friends and family, and even got to meet some online friends in person.

It was a successful weekend, I only wish I remembered to take more photos!

So now I have a short pause before the Rittenhouse Square Fine Art Show on June June 7, 8 and 9 in Philadelphia. I hope to see you there!
